An extraordinary musician Phil Hilborne is one of the UK’s best known and respected guitarists. During his 38 plus year career he has followed an extremely diverse path: Phil is a number one studio and live call player in London. From 2002 to 2014 he performed over 1,100 shows in the hit Queen musical ‘We Will Rock You’ at London’s Dominion theatre in the West End – as well as dates on the UK tour and also as principal guitarist on the 2014-15 German WWRY tour. He has also toured extensively with his own band and for over 30 years with Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain and was lead guitarist on ‘Flashback’ the 2008 USA arena tour.

In the studio and live Phil has done work for TV shows aired all over the world and has worked with many internationally known artist’s such as Steve Vai, Narada Michael Walden, Keith Emerson (& The Nice), Les Paul, John Entwhistle, Paul Gilbert, Uli Jon Roth, Frank Gambale, Vinnie Moore, Glenn Hughes, Steve Morse, Martin Taylor, Brian May, Bernie Marsden, Mel Galley, Bruce Dickinson, Mo Foster, Zakk Wylde, Ty Tabor, Ritchie Kotzen, Adrian Legg, members of Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Rainbow, Michael Schenker, Jethro Tull and many others. He runs his own studio and has an enviable reputation as producer/engineer and over the years has also played on countless albums and tracks. Phil is also a renowned Guitar educator he was the first person in the UK to write regular Rock instructional columns in ‘Guitarist’ magazine and also co-founded ‘Guitar Techniques’ magazine and has had articles published in ‘Guitar World’, ‘Total Guitar’, Guitar (France) and ‘Guitarista’ (Spain) and many others.

He has demonstrated equipment all around the world for numerous companies such as Paul Reed Smith, Marshall, Ampeg, Sonor, Premier, Hayden etc. He was the original curriculum director for the Brighton Institute of Modern Music and has performed guitar master class clinics all over the world. He was also the Musical Director of NYRO – the National Youth Rock Orchestra and has written and contributed to numerous books and many film/tv programs on the subject of Rock Guitar – including a best-selling collection of classic guitar solos ‘Solo’ a transcription book for Queen/Faber and music transcriptions for Brian May and Kerry Ellis.

He is also one of the two guitarists in ‘Champions Of Rock’ who have just completed their 5th tour – a hugely successful 2015 tour of Scandinavian arenas.
