Prateek Rajagopal, a prominent 20 year old guitarist/musician is especially known for being one of the youngest yet most versatile songwriter amongst various sub-genres in Heavy Metal in India. Better known as the guitar player of death/grind act ‘Gutslit’, he also plays for the death metal band ‘Reptilian Death’.
He has formed a progressive metal outfit called ‘The Minerva Conduct’. Their debut single, launched through Rolling Stone India has won accolades from the entire metal fraternity.
Having joined experimental metallers Chronic Phobia initially, the band soon went on hiatus and Prateek began writing music in his bedroom and simultaneously began exploring other avenues in the Metal sub-genre. Soon after, he joined the biggest and only Death/Grind act in India – Gutslit. Gutslit, the first Metal band from India to play an International show, has released a split-EP with French Death Metallers ‘Pulmonary Fibrosis’, followed by a full-length release called ‘Skewered In The Sewer’ via Ghastly Musik/Amputated Vein Records (Japan) and Coyote Records (Russia).
Skewered has received rave reviews from most of the prominent death metal reviewers like Destructive Music (UK), and has got mentions from Italian Slamming Brutal Death legends Vulvectomy, as well as heavy praise from Katalepsy (Russian Death Metallers), Beheaded (Death Metal from Malta), and so forth.
Later, he joined Demonstealer’s (Demonic Resurrection fame) project called Reptilian Death, and RD soon released ‘The Dawn of Consummation and Emergence’ via Old School Metal Records.
Prateek has recently formed an instrumental progressive metal outfit called ‘The Minerva Conduct’, who are all set to release their debut album next year – the band is currently in their pre- production phase.
