Charles Edward Alexander Hedger is a composer and guitarist with an extensive history in the music industry. He graduated from the London College of Music in 2004 with a BA in Popular Music Performance after securing a place there completely self taught.
In 2005 he began touring, writing and recording with well known UK heavy metal act Cradle of Filth, a job that took him all around the world several times, through several major studios and onto some of the biggest and most well known festival stages.
During this time he was also studying composition and orchestration in order to begin working on film scores and various types of media music. He has become increasingly involved in music for film and TV having scored short films, trailers and adverts in a diverse genres and styles.
His own band Imperial Vengeance, formed in 2007, has received significant critical acclaim and continues to push the boundries of what is possible with the extreme metal style.
Using huge orchestrations and harmonic content unusual to most metal, the band is a personal voice for a varied and highly diverse musician. One reviewer said ‘Phenomenal – Epic songwriting, a leveled balance of chaos and calm’.
Alongside playing and composing, Charles teaches guitar to Degree students at Colchester Institute.
